  The False Self  

Have you ever felt as though you were two people, a patient self and a cranky self?  Have you caught yourself behaving in a manner that is not a true reflection of the person you know yourself to be?  Is it sometimes difficult for others to see your understanding side? 
 
Stress can cause us to react in ways that feel out of character to the way we usually behave.  If you have been feeling a bit pressed lately, perhaps you need to make a special effort to reward yourself with some quality "Me Time."  Here are some ways to restore one's sense of inner balance and peace:
 
1) Take a long walk;
2) Engage in your favorite hobby or activity;
3) Call a group of friends and go to the movies together;
4) Read a good book;
5) Spend some quality time with your kids;
6) Go to the zoo -- sometimes there is nothing more entertaining than watching the antics of various animals;
7) Go to the nearest art museum or natural history museum;
8) Exercise or work out at your favorite fitness center;
9) Take a Tai Chi class.
 
And number 10?  Try coming up with one of your very own.
