Worthiness
Worthy according to
Webster's New World Dictionary means: having worth, value, or merit.
Many of us have grown up
with feelings of unworthiness. For one reason or another we picked up
on thoughts and feelings of those we trusted and loved the most in life and
sensed that they did not think we were worthwhile. We felt we were not worthy of their
attention. We developed the deep sense of feeling unworthy because of
how we were treated and talked to as children. Feelings of
unworthiness can stem from how the adults in our life treated us.
These deep seeded feelings
of unworthiness keep us from living the best life we can live. They
damage our self-esteem and cause us to focus on the more negative side of
life. Feelings of unworthiness keep us from expecting the best for
ourselves. We get what we expect to get in life so if we continue to
feel we are unworthy then we will continue to block the pathway that leads
to creating a happier and more fulfilling life.
False beliefs and opinions
of others will get in the way of your spiritual journey if you allow them
to. It is time to release those false beliefs and expectations of
others. An opinion from someone else is just that - an opinion - it is
not fact. It is not truth. Why should we allow someone else's
opinions block our journey of spirituality?
"Re-examine all you have
been told. Dismiss what insults your soul." Walt Whitman
"Know that although in the
eternal scheme of things you are small, you are also unique and
irreplaceable, as are all your fellow humans everywhere in the world."
Margaret Lawrence
We are all equal in our
worthiness the minute we are born into this life. You are worthy
for
just being you. You are worthy for just being born in this lifetime.
You are worthy of all good things. The words we use either silently or out loud have an
effect on our energy and motivation. Release any thoughts, words or
feelings of
unworthiness. Use positive
affirmations to change your thoughts and to refocus on the good things
that you desire and deserve in life. Here are a couple of
affirmations that work well for me: "I am lovable and worthy of love."
"I am worthy and deserving of all good things because I am."
"The
greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to
reveal to him his own."
Benjamin Disraeli
We declare our worthiness
to ourselves when we don't settle for anything less than what we really want
in life. Don't settle for less than what you desire in life.
We are all deserving and worthy of abundance because we are all created in
the same way. We are worthy because we were born. It is time to declare your worthiness!
