Fourth Place
2008
In 2008 The Positive Way held a
"Love Assurance" contest with the objective of finding out what people had
to say about creating and/or sustaining love in their lives.
The fourth place entry:
Before you can love your spouse,
your children, your friends, your family, or others one must love oneself. I
achieve this goal by doing these four small things daily- positive readings
and affirmations, keeping a journal, surrounding myself with positive people
and keeping a smile on my face- even when it hurts. I read books, quotes and
stories that are enlightening, uplifting and encouraging. I say a daily
affirmation as I look in the mirror- I love you and there isn’t anything you
can do about it.
I keep a journal and often reflect back to entries I entered last month or
last year. I then can look at what I thought were negative situations and
know that I did get through them. A college professor once told me if you
surround yourself with smart conscientious people you will be known as a
smart conscientious student and you will start acting like a smart
conscientious person.
If you surround yourself with positive up-lifting people you will become a
positive and uplifting person. Lastly a smile can change anyone's attitude-
even your own.
