Creativity and
Innovation for Business
Skills Training Creativity and innovation are the key to success in
the new millennium.
Following are
course outlines for two-day introductory, three-day
introductory, and five-day - facilitator
courses in Creativity and Innovation for Business.
Content is customized and targeted for each client.
Summary:
This training will provide the participants with skills that will allow them to
understand and apply the process of creativity and innovation.
Further, they will practice tools that can greatly enhance creativity and
effectiveness in problem solving. Participants
will be able to apply these skills both personally and professionally.
Two-day
Introduction to Creativity and Innovation (~13 hours over two days) Recommended for all managers and staff who participate in decision-making, concept or product development, and/or problem solving. Purpose: To enable the participants to: q Understand their personal role in creativity and innovation q Understand key elements of the environment relating to creativity and innovation q Use tools that enhance creativity q Make better decisions individually and as a team member q Learn powerful techniques for solving and preventing problems q Move from issues and questions to solutions and answers Content: Includes elements of the following:

The four facets of creativity and innovation q The Creative Problem Solving model
q
Positive approaches to pitfalls and how to be creative and/or
problem solve q Understanding the situation q Generating options q Evaluating options q Getting to action plans
Format:
A
balanced mix of lecture and interactive small-group training with about 80% of
the time spent in instructor-led hands-on activities. The meeting space should private and of adequate size to
allow both lecture presentation and for small groups to work.
Each group (from 4 to 8) will require chairs, flip charts with easels,
tape, markers, Post-it® notes (3" by 5"), and wall space to post
their charts.
Three-day
Introduction to Creativity and Innovation (~20 hours over three days) Recommended for those who will benefit from enhanced creative skills and those who have no time to waste while building consensus, communicating, and/or decision making with others. Purpose: To enable the participants to: q Derive the benefits of the two-day course plus q Be more comfortable with the concepts and methods plus q Be more effective participants and leaders in group decision making Content: Include elements of the following: q Everything in the two-day course plus q More hands-on time with tools plus q Tools for consensus building q Tools for decision making q Practice with real issues from start to finish – through writing action plans
Format:
