Cost Reduction and a Business Unit Turn-Around SITUATION: A business unit of a Fortune 500 company was suffering serious losses as a result of an inability to compete in a market drastically shifted by aggressive competitors. Closure was immanent. SOLUTION: We applied problem-solving methods to clearly understand the situation. Cost reduction and market development opportunities were found, obstacles were identified, and a radical strategic plan strategic plan was created, evaluated, sold to management, and implemented.
