Relationship Conflict

More jobs are lost due to relationship conflict than any other single cause. Interpersonal conflict is extremely difficult to deal with and yet conflict is all round us influencing our work and our lives. It takes skill to sort through the complexities of conflict to find the true causes and build a workable relationship. How well you do may determine the success or failure of your business and/or your career.  

 Here are eight strategies that I have found to be useful when I have coached individuals and teams through unproductive conflict.

In addition, I have included eight tips for creating better relationships. They are based on years of practical experience and an extensive review of decades of research.

A basic premise is that each and every one of us wants to be understood and appreciated for who we are. A failure to do so leads to conflict.

Business Relationship Secrets

No one likes everyone they meet. In fact the chances are that you will dislike 25% of them. This is troubling because how people relate to and within an organization is a primary determiner of success or failure. Less than twenty percent of people are fired from their jobs because of a lack of ability or leave their jobs because of compensation issues. In over eighty percent of cases, people leave or are booted out because of relationship problems. They leave because they don't get along with someone.

Customers often base their buying decisions on how they feel about their treatment by the company…their relationships not only with the salespeople but also with the other people who they deal with.
