Advice Line

Research shows that problems are an inevitable part of all relationships.  Half of all marriages don't make it through those problems.  The key to success is being able to work through them together as a team.  Love alone is not enough.  Marriage and commitment require patience, faith, an ability to solve problems, and open communication.   Life presents great challenges that we are really not well trained to understand and solve easily.  Unfortunately half of  new marriages these days are only lasting about 38 months.  And even couples that have been together for 20 years are now finding their relationships falling apart.  This does not have to be the case.   It takes work to have a lasting, loving, happy relationship.  It helps to learn communications skills and techniques that will allow for the "hot" issues to be discussed in safety without causing damage to the relationship.  In addition to the resources on this website, and the links to other professional organizations, we offer this expert relationship advice free to you.

It's part of our mission to reduce the divorce rate and to increase marital satisfaction.  This website is intended to help.  Over the past decade we have answered thousands of questions on topics such as these and more:

  • Love

  • Romance

  • Communication

  • Fighting

  • Anger

  • Abuse – click here if you are in an abusive situation

  • Self-esteem

  • Step-parenting

  • Loneliness

  • Lost love

  • Dating

  • Divorce

  • Cheating partner

  • Infidelity

  • Mind reading

  • Money matters

  • Problem solving

Our answers to these questions are already posted on The Positive Way website.  So these are the steps we recommend for you in finding the answer to your question:

  1. Write your question down.  Read it and rewrite it until it is clear to you.
  2. Pick key words or phrases like the list above that seem to be part of your concern.
  3. Use the following search box to find the resources that can help you understand your problem and create answers.

  1. Read and study the material you find in the search (web pages, books, etc.).
  2. Try these problem solving methods.

Consider asking us a question only after you have been through these five steps.  At the same time, if the problem is that difficult, you probably should consider getting assistance in your community.  Talk to your friends, pastor, help lines, counselors and other sources of assistance nearby.  The books listed at the bottom of the page are all excellent.

Our website is meant to provide the reader with solid information that can be put to use in helping each person that is struggling with a relationship issue.  Please first search our website carefully and find those articles that are pertinent to the topics of your interest.  Our articles give advice and guidance on how to change all of your relationships in a positive way.
