Mindfulness
Mindful according to Webster’s New World Dictionary means: having in mind;
aware, heedful, or careful.
Most of us go through life without mindfulness. Have you ever driven to a
destination and before you know it you are there but you don’t remember the
journey? Tasks like driving and mundane task are where the mind wonders the
most and we become less mindful during these times. Have you ever eaten a
meal but not tasted the meal? Have you ever picked up the phone and once
you heard a voice that you weren’t ready to listen to you immediately shut
down the listening and the mind starts wandering to other things?
I, like many others, find it a challenge to be present especially during the
mundane or ordinary task of daily life. My new goal is to try to be present
just for a few seconds or a moment at a time. Today I just sat and watched
a cloud do its thing and in that few seconds I was truly present. I am
choosing to be more present one second at a time. My hope is that it will
lead to more mindfulness in my every day living. The more mindful we become
the less stress and anxiety we will feel in other areas of our life.
Give mindfulness a try and start enjoying those precious seconds in your
life.

with the dominating thoughts we hold in our minds and
these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life
which harmonize
